In the fifth game of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024, India Women will face off against the United Arab Emirates Women at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla on July 21.
Both India Women (IND-W) and United Arab Emirates Women (UAE-W) are set to compete in this match as part of Group A, alongside Nepal and Pakistan.
During the first match against arch-rivals Pakistan, Women in Blue emerged victorious by a significant margin of seven wickets. With the initiative, Nida Dar chose to bat first, but India’s defensive bowling was too strong for Pakistan, limiting them to just 108 runs. India Women’s response was strong, easily hitting the target with the support of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma’s outstanding 85-run opening partnership.
Conversely, the United Arab Emirates Women suffered a heavy defeat of six wickets against Nepal, scoring just 115 runs in their 20 overs. Khushi Sharma was the standout performer for the Eagles, scoring a 39-ball 38. In the United Arab Emirates Women’s counterattack, Nepal swiftly chased down the total with six wickets and only 23 balls left. Samjhana Khadka was recognized as the Player of the Match for her 72 from 45.

The Rangiri Dambulla ground is known to favor spinners due to its slow play. Although it offers decent bounce for fast bowlers, it complicates the task for the batter in predicting the ball’s path. With these factors in mind, the team that wins the coin toss is likely to play the first innings.
