At Eden Gardens, RCB outperformed KKR, the defending IPL champions. Rahane’s 56 off 31 balls, together with the efforts of Narine and Raghuvanshi, helped KKR reach 174/8 in 20 overs. Salt and Kohli, the RCB openers, both scored 95 runs.
