The CEAT Cricket Rating Awards were held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Rohit Sharma captain of Team India was awarded Men’s International Cricketer of the Year at the awards ceremony. Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Mumbai. Virat Kohli was crowned Men’s ODI Batter of the Year during the presentation. While Mohammed Shami received Men’s Test Vowler of the Year.
Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah received an award for excellence in sports administration. After earning his medal, Shah stated, “As I told you in Rajkot, we are going to host our flag in Barbados, which our skipper did. If we have the support of 1.4 billion people. We can repeat the feat in the Champions Trophy, World Test Championship final, and Women’s T20 World Cup.”
Rohit Sharma Wins Men’s International Cricketer of the Year
India’s skipper Rohit Sharma received the Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award for his outstanding performances in all forms. In 2023, Rohit scored 1,800 international runs, including 1,255 runs in ODIs at an average of 52.59. His contributions were particularly significant in the ODI format, where he tallied 597 runs during the World Cup, making him the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament.
